Ultrasound Physics is a basic CME course designed to provide learners with a better understanding of the nature and limitations of ultrasound and of the different parameters that are essential for artifacts correction in sonography. This course covers the basics of ultrasound physics, image formation, and resolution and highlights different ultrasound modes and artifacts imaging with an overview of machine functions and manipulation. In addition, the course introduces the Doppler Effect, ultrasonic velocimetry, the physical principle behind harmonic imaging and its advantages. Clinical examples are presented to enhance learning and mastery of course concepts.

As a basic level CME course, Ultrasound Physics is suitable for students in sonography programs, for technologists who need a refresher on the sonography fundamentals, and for technologists looking for study material for sonography registries.
