CT of the Chest, Abdomen, and Pelvis
In the CT of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis course, you will learn how computed tomography images are formed, while exploring key parameters that impact image quality and patient dose. This course guides you through CT protocols, artifacts, and common pathologies in the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, which help you gain the necessary skills to improve your imaging skills.

In this course, you will gain insight into computed tomography (CT) imaging of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. You will first learn about the role of the X-ray tube and detectors in CT scanning procedures, along with data acquisition, reconstruction, and post-processing. You will explore imaging parameters such as kVp, mAs, pitch, and slice thickness, and discover how they affect both image quality and contrast, and patient dose. You will gain skills in various acquisition methods, including axial, helical, volumetric, cine, and dual-energy, as well as how advanced reconstruction and 3D rendering enhance visualization.
This course will also teach you how to recognize and avoid common artifacts, evaluate image quality, and apply informatics tools like PACS and DICOM. This computed tomography course covers CT protocols for the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, with and without contrast. You will explore anatomy, landmarks, and common pathologies such as pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection, gallstones, diverticulitis, liver metastases, kidney stones, and vascular disorders.
By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and confidence to optimize protocols, interpret images, and provide better patient care in chest, abdominal, and pelvic CT imaging.
