We design our continuing education with the idea in mind that radiation therapists deserve continuing education that does more for them than just meet their CE requirements. That’s the bare minimum, in our estimation. We believe that CE experiences should be practical and engaging, that they should help radiation therapists to improve their clinical practice, to provide radiotherapy patients with the best possible treatment and care, and to help RTTs advance their careers—in addition, of course, to helping them accrue the radiation therapy CE credits required for ARRT® and state renewal requirements.

To this end, we have developed interactive courses that aim to address radiation therapists’ daily practices, needs, and frustrations. Our expert radiation therapists and application specialists have traveled the world teaching RTTs in multiple countries and contexts, allowing them great insight into how to chunk information and use animation and interactivity to develop courses that effectively break down difficult or complex concepts and problems of practice into manageable and easily understandable explanations and actions that radiation therapists can use right away.

Check out the individual radiation therapy course pages for course overviews, in-depth descriptions of the topics covered, course demos, and number of CE credits each course is worth. You can also find CQR distribution information on individual course pages. Our Radiation Therapy Basics: The Guide for Therapists is designed as a comprehensive guide to radiation therapy fundamentals, including the physics of radiation, its effects on healthy and cancerous tissues, the mechanics of linear accelerators, and the roles and responsibilities of RTTs. This course is approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) for 3.25 Category A CE credits.

Our series of Treatment Sites and Tumors courses provide advanced radiation therapy training in both stereotactic and conventional irradiation for different regions of the body, covering the following topics:

  • Advantages and disadvantages of different radiation treatment techniques, including external beam, 3D conformal, IMRT, and stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery and brachytherapy
  • Symptoms of malignant cancers related to different organs
  • The duties of each member of the healthcare team involved in the patient’s radiotherapy treatment
  • The treatment procedure in its entirety, including the possible patient positions, accessories, position verification, and options available for each treatment site
  • How to effectively advocate for patients, how to relay patient side effects, and how to work out possible treatments with other members of the healthcare team to minimize and limit these side effects

Each course in this series is approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Category A CE credits and focuses on the topics listed above as they relate to radiation therapy for specific organs and regions of the body.
