One third of our patients will experience pain in one or both feet in their lifetime. Most often the painful lesion is located either in the forefoot or in the heel. Weightbearing X-rays are essential for a proper diagnosis; however, ultrasound is as important for the sake of accuracy of diagnosis.
Effectively, the ultrasound examination of the foot provides an analysis of the plantar aponeurosis, the inter-capito-metatarsal spaces in search of a neuroma or bursitis as well as the plantar plaques which are often undertaken during a hyperpressure syndrome.
