Course Description

Build a stronger foundation in musculoskeletal MRI with a practical course that connects essential anatomy with patient positioning and image acquisition. MSK Anatomy and MRI Positioning covers the upper and lower extremities, including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, fingers, thumb, hip, knee, ankle, foot, toes, and long bones. Learners review anatomical planes, bony landmarks, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other key structures while developing the knowledge needed for accurate orientation, slice planning, and high-quality MSK imaging.

This course is ideal for MR imaging assistants who are building their knowledge of MSK anatomy and patient positioning in MRI, while also serving as a valuable refresher for radiologic technologists and MRI technologists. In addition to anatomy, the course reviews patient preparation, MRI safety, special patient considerations, coil selection, immobilization, contrast use, and positioning techniques for upper and lower extremity examinations. By bringing anatomy, positioning, safety, and patient care together, the course helps learners’ approach MSK MRI examinations with greater understanding and confidence.
