Pediatric CT
A comprehensive pediatric CT course covering child-specific anatomy and physiology, patient care, dose optimization, iodinated contrast administration, and CT protocols for radiologic and CT technologists. It provides 6.00 ARRT®-accepted Category A+ CE credits that can be used toward ARRT® certification and registration renewal, state license renewal, and CQR requirements.
Course Description
Deliver safer, more effective CT imaging for pediatric patients with a course designed around the unique needs of children, not simply smaller versions of adult protocols. Pediatric CT explores the anatomical, physiological, developmental, and emotional differences that influence pediatric imaging, helping technologists adapt their approach to the child’s age, size, clinical condition, and ability to cooperate. The course covers pediatric anatomy and physiology, patient care, radiation dose optimization, iodinated contrast administration, and commonly used pediatric CT protocols and indications.
This course is ideal for CT technologists and radiologic technologists who perform pediatric examinations, whether pediatric imaging is an occasional part of their work or their primary area of practice. Learners will strengthen their approach to communicating with children and families, reducing anxiety and motion, adapting CT technique to pediatric patients, optimizing radiation dose, safely administering contrast, and selecting appropriate protocols based on the clinical indication. With a strong emphasis on safety, comfort, and diagnostic image quality, the course provides practical knowledge you can apply directly to pediatric CT examinations.
