Course Description

Build a stronger foundation in thoracic MRI with a practical course that connects essential anatomy with landmarking, imaging planes, and patient positioning. Thorax Anatomy and MRI Positioning covers chest anatomy and physiology, thoracic landmarks, cardiac MRI, and brachial plexus MRI. Learners review the anatomical structures and imaging planes used in thoracic examinations while developing the knowledge needed for accurate orientation, positioning, and high-quality MRI imaging.

This course is ideal for MR imaging assistants who are building their knowledge of thorax anatomy and patient positioning in MRI, while also serving as a valuable refresher for radiologic technologists and MRI technologists. In addition to anatomy, the course reviews patient preparation, special patient considerations, MRI safety, coil selection, breathing instructions, respiratory gating, contrast administration, and positioning techniques for chest, cardiac, and brachial plexus MRI examinations. By bringing anatomy, safety, patient care, and positioning together, the course helps learners approach thoracic MRI examinations with greater understanding and confidence.
