Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) and RRAs licensed in the State of Florida are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education within a period of 2 years to get their license renewal. Moreover, if you are ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certified as well, then you are also required to obtain 24 CE credits every 2 years.

As per the Florida Department of Health, Council on Radiation Protection Requirement, you must complete 12 CE credits hours every biennial certificate renewal. Out of these 12 CE credits, no more than 3 hours may be classified as personal development. Therefore, you should acquire at least 9 CE credits or all of the 12 CE credits from topics that sound technical in nature related to your field (radiology, radiation protection,…).
PS: in addition to the abovementioned 12 CE credits requirements, please check the following requirements as stated by the The Florida Department of Health, Council on Radiation Protection “Effective July 1, 2016, anyone applying for certification as a Radiologic Technologist or Radiologist Assistant is no longer required to complete the HIV/Aids course as a condition of licensure. After July 1, 2016, you will not need to submit evidence of HIV/Aids Course Completion. Please note that this is still a condition of renewal of a certification”.
