François Cornud, MD
Radiologist – Specialised in Prostate Imaging

Dr François Cornud did his residency (1974-1978) and his fellowship (1978-1980) at Xavier Bichat University. He practiced as a Consultant Radiologist at Bichat Hospital until 1986, and as a part-time radiologist at Necker Hospital until 2001 and currently at Cochin Hospital. He moved to private practice in 1987 with Dr Didier Bonnel. His training at Bichat Hospital led him to specialize in diagnostic and interventional urinary imaging. For the past ten years, he subspecialized in prostate imaging and his notoriety has been established in this field.
Dr. Cornud has numerous publications and has been invited to deliver lectures dedicated to prostate cancer MRI and prostate biopsies at international congresses. He is the author of numerous scientific articles published in peered-reviewed journals with a high impact factor, and is reputed to be an international expert on the subject.
Dr. Cornud is a private practitioner at Clinique de l’Alma in Paris, specialized in imaging of the urinary tract and more specifically diagnostic and interventional prostate MRI.

Bernard Malavaud, MD-PhD
Urology Surgeon

Dr Malavaud is a professor of Urology in Toulouse Medical School. Born in 1960 in Algeria, he graduated in Medicine in 1989 after his military service as a District Medical Officer in Malawi (East Central Africa) and four years of residency in General Surgery and Urology. He was first offered a temporary position of assistant professor of Physiology and moved in 1992 to the position of senior staff the department of Urology and Renal Transplantation in his alma mater university. He defended his PhD in Paris in 1996 on tumor angiogenesis, under the advisorship of Dr Jean Plouët co-discover of the VEGF.
From 1999 to 2000 he was visiting scientist in the department of biomedical engineering of the Johns Hopkins University where he developed microspheres for the sustained release of chemotherapy after bladder instillation and filled three patents in that field. Back in France he was promoted to full professorship in 2001 and was awarded in 2003 the EAU Matula award from the European Association of Urology.
He is now Head of Onco-Urology to the newly installed Institut Universitaire du Cancer in Toulouse and co-director with Dr Olivier Cuvillier of the sphingolipids and cancer group of the "Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique".
He published research papers in urology both clinical and translational. He belongs to the European Association of Urology Strategic Planning Office and was involved in drafting the EAU position paper on Personalised Medicine. He holds advisory positions in various boards.
