Welcome to Medical Professionals’ California Radiology Continuing Education Library! Here you will find a variety of interactive continuing education courses for radiologic technologists licensed by the state of California. The California Department of Health–Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH-RHB) accepts for CE credits any continuing education course that addresses the application of X-rays to the human body and is approved by an ARRT® Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM). All of the courses in this library are approved by an ARRT® RCEEM—either the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)—and are therefore accepted by the CDPH-RHB.

Below you can find a summary of California’s radiology continuing education (CE) requirements for certified radiologic technologists (CRTs), as per the CDPH–RHB:

Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) – CE Requirements:

CRTs need to earn twenty-four (24) approved CE credits, four (4) of which shall be in digital radiography, in the two years immediately preceding the expiration date of their permit.

The Department will accept the following advanced credential certificates issued by the ARRT® organization for 24 CE credits if the certificate was issued within the two years immediately preceding the expiration date of the certificate or permit:

Mammography**
Computed Tomography
Quality Management
Bone Densitometry
Vascular-interventional Radiography
Cardiac-interventional Radiography
Radiologist Assistant
Radiation Therapy

Mammographic Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) – ADDITIONAL Requirements:

Must earn 10 of the 24 Approved CE credits in mammography
**The advanced credential certificate for mammography will meet the 10 CE credits specific to the mammography requirement. The other advanced credentials will not meet this requirement, so additional CE credits will need to be earned specific to mammography

Enroll in the Mammography CE package to fulfill your requirements in 24 CE credits, which include the 10 CE credits specific to mammography.

Radiologic Technology Fluoroscopy (RTF) Permit ADDITIONAL Requirements:

CRTs with an RTF permit must acquire 4 CE credits of the 24 Approved CE credits in radiation safety for the clinical uses of fluoroscopy

Enroll in the Fluoroscopy course to cover your 4 CE requirements in radiation safety and clinical use of fluoroscopy.

Limited Permit X-Ray Technicians (XT) – CE Requirements:

Limited Permit X-Ray Technicians (XTs) must earn twenty-four (24) approved CE credits, in the two years immediately preceding the expiration date of their permit
Limited Permit X-Ray Technicians (XTs) with digital authorization must earn four (4) of the twenty-four (24) CE credits in digital radiography

Physician Assistants Fluoroscopy Permit – CE Requirements:

PAs must acquire no less than ten (10) approved continuing education credits, with at least four (4) of the credits addressing radiation safety for the clinical uses of fluoroscopy

Does the California RHB accept your radiology continuing education courses for Limited XT permit holders?

Yes! Our courses have been reviewed and approved by the CDPH-RHB for Limited XT permit holders. You can even find us listed on the California RHB website as an approved radiology continuing education provided for Limited XTs.

I need to earn a lot of CE credits for my continuing education requirements: does your All-Access Pass work for California radiologic technologists?

Yes! If you need to earn a lot of CE credits, our All-Access Pass is the way to go. You’ll get all of the courses you see listed in this California Radiology Continuing Education Library (and all the rest of our interactive CE courses, too!). Just remember, the CDPH-RHB only accepts courses that deal with the application of X-rays to the human body. So once you purchase your All-Access Pass, you’ll need to be sure you choose the right courses for your CE requirements.

Can I use these courses to meet my California state CE requirements and my ARRT® CQR requirements?

Yes! All of these continuing education courses are approved by the CDPH-RHB for California radiologic technologists and accepted for ARRT® CQR and annual renewal. On the individual course pages, you will find a CQR distribution table. If you need help deciding which courses to take to meet your CQR requirements for the lowest cost, use our new CQR Simulator! What’s your refund policy?

Our refund policy is simple and straightforward: if, within 30 days of your purchase and for any reason, you are not satisfied with a course, and you have neither passed a post-test nor generated a certificate for the course, you are entitled to a full refund. Do you offer discounts on your continuing education courses for groups of California radiologic technologists or whole departments?

Yes! If you have a department or large group of radiologic technologists who need CE credits, we are happy to offer courses to the group or department at a discounted rate. Discounts depend on the number of radiologic technologists in the department or group. Just contact us, specifying the number of individuals you want to enroll, and we will get back to you within one business day.

Can I take your courses offline?

Yes, you can! Most of the courses in this library have transcripts that you can download read offline at your convenience. You will, of course, have to log in to take the post-test online to earn your CE credits and certificate for your California state radiology continuing education requirements.

I lost my CE certificate! Can you give me another copy of it?

Of course! Not to worry. We know things like this happen sometimes. Just send us a message to let us know which certificate you’ve misplaced, and we’ll send you another copy within 1 business day so you can report your radiology continuing education activities to the California RHB right away.
